2023 NRC Annual Meeting

2023 NRC Annual Meeting
Friday, November 10th, 2023

The meeting was called to order at 2:10 pm by Rob Rueter.

Rob welcomed contestants, volunteers and spectators to Oregon. Rob mentioned that the grounds are in amazing shape and pre-national week went smoothly. There was a special salute to our Veterans and the
Pledge of Allegiance was then led by Larry Mike Smith.

The group was led in prayer by Peter Goodale.

Rob then asked for a moment of silence to the people and dogs we lost this year.

Field Trial Dedication
Rob called Julie Cole and Andy Kahn to the podium to give the trial dedications.

Andy Kahn – Event Co-Chief Marshal

Andy introduced Peter Goodale and his family. Andy recounted how Peter got him involved in the sport first through well trained hunting dogs, and eventually through field trials. Peter has served the sport on a local and National level for years. It is an honor to dedicate the 2023 NRC to Peter.

Julie Cole introduced Larry Mike Smith, who she affectionately referred to as "Grumpy." Larry's wife used to compete in hunt tests and convinced him to try field trials years ago. He is both a respected competitor and Judge, and we are happy to dedicate the 2023 NRC to Larry Mike Smith.

Peter and Larry were then presented with beautiful custom wood carvings.
