Callbacks to the 10th Series

13 dogs were called back: 4, 12, 17, 20, 25, 26, 28, 34, 48, 50, 57, 69 and 70

NOTES: 
  • 10th Series Competitors will Caravan from the Comfort Inn at 8:00 AM
  • All Others: Workers, Spectators, etc. will come into the parking area above Morley's Property – A Short walk to the Gallery Area
  • 10th Series Competitor Parade at 8:30 am
  • Test Dogs will be run around 9:00 am

9th Series – Land and Water Triple

19 Dogs Started the 9th series. 

We kicked the 9th series this afternoon with running our test dogs starting at 12:24 pm. The first test dog to run was "Brandy" with handler Missy Bell and then next up was "Zeiss" with handler Jane Patopea, giving the teams a preview of the challenges they would be facing in this test.

The first running dog on for the 9th Series was #12 FC-AFC Boo's Straight Line Is A Good Idea, “Torq,” with handler Isaac Langerud at 12:56 pm.

The weather this afternoon continued to be mostly cloudy with overcast skies and temps up into the low 50's.

Here is how things turned out for the 9th Series…

Our last running dog for this series was dog #
4 FC-AFC Bayou-Star Fleurty Girl, “Fleurt,” with handler Hunter StreetThey finished the test and the series was completed at 3:55 pm.


There were 19 dogs sent from the line in this series, taking exactly 2 hours and 59 minutes, which averages out to be a little over 9 minutes per dog. 

The 9th Series is now complete, and officially in the books! 
Callbacks will be coming and we will be on to the 10th Series Tomorrow morning!

9th Series Test Complete

 **Series 9 was completed and in the books at 3:55 pm**

Handle 4. FC-AFC BAYOU-STAR FLEURTY GIRL, “Fleurt,” BLF, Hunter Street

Fleurt and Hunter came to the line at 3:46 pm

F – Got her flyer!

LR – Nice position, swam the length of the pond and pulled left on exit, swung over and scooped up the LR bird.

RR – Good line out, but she must have just missed the bird!! She was handled back to this bird.



Handle 83. VINWOOD’S CHARLIE, “Charlie,” BLM, Danny Farmer

Charlie and Danny came to the line at 3:39 pm

F – Good job on the flyer!

RR – Took a good portion of the water, then was out of the water and his line took him behind the gunners, but he quickly corrected and located his bird.

LR –  Got through the water but turned right at the fake forest and needed to be handled to this bird.



Handle 81. FC-AFC MR. LEE’S MAGNIFICENT MISS MARGIE, “Margie,” BLF, Wayne Stupka

Margie and Wayne came to the line at 3:28 pm

F – Margie was very happy to get her flyer!

LR – She begins working the field after she comes out of the water, pulling left and she locates her bird.

RR – Down the hill and angled left, Margie is handled right to locate her bird.




Handle 61. FC PVS FRANK THE TANK, “Frank,” BLM, Craig Crook

Frank and Craig came to the line at 3:18 pm

F – No problem with the flyer.

LR – Cut the corners of the pond and then through the other pond, cut left and worked his way to the bird.

RR – Down the hillside arriving right of the ponds and the bird. He initiates a hunt pattern in the soft bulrushes and then continued on, to go deeper and to the right, he was handled to this bird.



Handle 70. FC-AFC SHE SELLS SEASHELLS BY THE SEASIDE, “Shelly,” BLF, Al Arthur

Shelly and Al came to the line at 3:08 pm

F – Quick recovery of her flyer

LR –  Good position in the water, she squared out of the pond and pushed left, over to the blind and she was able to locate her bird.

RR – Great line out through the water, pulled left and she exited the water, arrived on the field left of the blind and continued, she was handled to this bird.



69. FC-AFC FREERIDIN RIKKI TIKKI TAVI, “Tavi,” BLF, Marcy Wright

Tavi and Marcy came to the line at 3:00 pm

F – No problem on the flyer!

LR – Nice line through the water, out and a quick check of the fake forest to the right, she corrects and moves on, locating the gunners and moves over to scoop up her bird.

RR – Rolling along and she arrives wide left, she makes a good move right and comes up with the bird!




57. FC-AFC SEASIDE’S ISSHEIT, “Zoey,” BLF, Ty Rorem

Zoey and Ty came to the line at 2:52 pm

F – Back with the bird and looking for the next!

RR – Taking a piece of the water, she swims and then is out and drives just behind the gunners, but corrects and scoops up her bird.

LR – Missing the water, she goes wide left to the fence and runs along it until she locates her bird.




Handle 47. FC-AFC BAYOU TECHE PAINT THE BLACK, “Madduxx,” BLM, Craig Crook

Madduxx and Craig came to the line at 2:43 pm

F – Got it!

LR – Madduxx cut the corners of two ponds, landing in the fake forest and worked his way left to locate his bird.

RR – Nice water entry, cut out left and needed to be handled to this bird.


Handle 50. FC-AFC HEARTBEAT’S GEORGIA PEANUT, “Peanut,” BLF, Andrew Curtis

Peanut and Andrew came to the line at 2:38 pm

F – Got her flyer!

LR – Out on a good line and she got her bird.

RR – Arrived way left of the bird and she had to be handled to this bird.



Handle 48. FC OUTBACK’S RISING STAR, “Champ,” BLM, Steve Yozamp

Champ and Steve came to the line at 2:24 pm

F – Got it!

LR – Through the water and pulled left, working further left, he moved behind the blind and over to the bird.

RR –  Went out wide left and needed to be handled to this bird.

34. FC SEASIDE’S GOT THAT ITCH AGAIN, “Ivy,” BLF, Craig Crook

Ivy and Craig came to the line at 2:10 pm

F – Out and back in with her bird.

LR – Takes a bit of water and arrives in the fall area to grab her bird.

RR – Came in behind the gunners, a quick loop and she moved over to the bird.



28. FC-AFC EXECUTION SOUTHERN STYLE - LETHAL, “Lethal,” BLM, Jason Baker

Lethal and Jason came to the line at 2:02 pm

F – No problem on his Flyer!

RR – Nice line through he pond, he pulled a little left and then a quick loops and he was on the bird.

LR – He looked positive on line. In the water and out, he arrived left of the gunners but worked the edge of the field to locate his bird.



Handle 26. NFC-CNFC TRULINE’S JUST FLOYD, “Floyd,” YLM, Amie Henninger

Floyd and Amie came to the line at 1:51 pm

F – Back in with his bird.

RR – Down the hill, he checks out the soft bulrushes, works left but need to go deeper into the field and over.... he is handled to this bird.

LR – Cuts the water, but arrives left of the gunners, runs along the edge of the field, moves over and scoops up his bird.



25. FC-AFC ATLASTA PRAYER, “Faith,” BLF, Bruce Ahlers

Faith and Bruce came to the line at 1:44 pm

F – Got the flyer!

RR – Out of the water early on the swim, but she corrects to the area and with a couple tight loops, has her bird.

LR – Through the water, she hunts a few loops, moves on deep and left to work it out and find her bird.



Handle 24. FC-AFC JIMAVICHE’S HOLLANDAISE JAMMER, “Jammer,” BLM, Kenny Trott

Jammer and Kenny came to the line at 1:34 pm

F – Jammer is asked to reheel. He easily complies and is sent for his bird.

LR – Through two outside ponds, he checked the area of the hay bales and drives to get his bird.

RR – Cut through the water but he came wide right and continued to drive on, Jammer is handled to this bird.



20. FC ZIPLINE’S JAMESON O’GRADY, “Ozzie,” BLM, Hunter Street

Ozzie and Hunter came to the line at 1:24 pm

F – Good job!

RR – Through the water and down the alleyway to the bird. Well done.

LR – Missing the water, he arrived at the mound along the fence-line. Working his way along the fence-line he came to the holding blind and moved on the find his bird.



Handle 18. FC 3R’S DRIVE ME TO THE BLUE RIBBON ROAD, “Driver,” BLM, Ty Rorem

Driver and Ty came to the line at 1:12 pm

F – Long flyer, and he got it.

LR – Into the field and he was drawn left, quickly moved to the retired gunner and located his bird.

RR – Driver goes to the far left pond and is handled right to get his bird.



17. FC BOURGEOIS’ OUISIE, NOW I’M GETTING MY TURN AT BAT, “George,” BLM, Clint Avant

George and Clint came to the line at 1:05 pm

F – Quickly recovered his hen pheasant.

LR – Cut across the water, a little zig zag and then on to find the holding blind, a tight hunt and he located his bird.

RR – George took a corner of water and then charges down to scoop up his bird!

12. FC-AFC BOO’S STRAIGHT LINE IS GOOD IDEA, “Torq,” BLM, Isaac Langerud

Torq and Isaac came to the line at 12:56 pm

F – No problem on his Flyer

RR – Wide left, hunted left after getting out of the water. Worked the area and moved the hunt pattern further right to locate the bird.

LR – Entering the left of the guns he located the blind, hunted tight and got his bird!

9th Series Test Dogs

The 1st test dog that came to the line to run the 9th Series was Brandy and handler Missy Bell.
Brandy and Missy came to the line at 12:24 pm.

F – Fluttering flyer, got it

RR – Through the soft bulrushes to find her bird.

LR – Into the field, looped around the pine trees, drove deep and left. Came back in and was handled right to located her bird.

MR – Very good!



**Adjustments were made to the test after Brandy and Missy Bell ran. They pulled out the RR bulrush bird, the Judges want to see it ran as a triple mark for the next test dog** 


Zeiss III, “Zeiss” LM

Handler: Jane Patopea


The 2nd test dog to the line for the 9th Series was Zeiss with handler Jane Patopea.
Zeiss and Jane came to the line at 12:38 pm

F – Easy work of his Flyer

LR – Around the edge of the water, a brief check midway, also checked the holding blind and then worked out to the bird.

(MR becomes the RR)
RR – Dog headed towards the bulrush bird and was handled over.

This test took Zeiss approximately 7 minutes to complete



9th Series Test Description

Series 9 – Land and Water Triple

We are at the Kongsore Property in Creswell, Oregon where it has warmed up to 51 degrees. It is still overcast skies with a 3 mph NW wind.

The mat sits on top of a large hill, overlooking a field dotted with hay bales and 3 pieces of water. 

This triple is thrown middle, right, left.

Bird #1 is a Rooster Pheasant thrown left to right, 368 yds from the mat. The line to this bird is down a large rolling hill, across 2 pieces of water and out to the end of the field. This gun station retires as soon as the dog is sent for the last bird down. We will refer to this bird as LR for Left Retired.

Bird #2 is a Hen Pheasant thrown left to right, 342 yds from the mat. The line to this bird is off the side hill and down a channel. The gun station retires as soon as the dog is sent for the last bird down. We will refer to this bird as RR for Right Retired.

Bird #3 is a Hen Pheasant Flyer shot right to left, landing 120 yds from the mat. We will refer to this bird as F for Flyer.

This test is taking each dog approximately 7-8 minutes to complete.

8th Series – Water Blind

30 Dogs Started the 8th Series.

We began this morning with running the test dogs starting at 7:28 am. The first test dog to run was "Zeiss" with handler Jane Patopea, and then next up was "Brandy" with handler Missy Bell, giving the teams a look at this tough Water Blind test.

The first running dog was #63 NFC-AFC Bayou Teche Swing For The Fence, “Foxx,” with handler Lauren Hays at 7:56 am.

The weather this morning was mostly cloudy overcast skies, a light drizzle and temps in the upper 40's.  

This was another fast-moving test ....
Here is how things turned out for the 8th Series…
Less than 5 whistles: 3 dogs
5-10 Whistles: 13 dogs
10+ Whistles: 13 dogs

Our last running dog for this series was dog #
61 FC PV'S Frank The Tank, “Frank,” with handler Craig CrookThey finished the test and the Series was completed at 10:29 am.


There were 30 dogs sent from the line in this series, taking exactly 2 hours and 33 minutes, which averages out to be just more than 5 minutes per dog. 

The 8th Series is officially in the books! We will be moving on to the 9th Series.
